John Grisham needed help getting his first book read and so do I.

I Need Your Help--Yes, I mean I need your help.

Since Riding The Bull was released in July, I have had  wonderful feed back from early readers--plenty of people love the story and that makes me feel good. Now that I know readers like my story, I feel comfortable working hard to sell books and get more people to enjoy the story.

As I said I NEED YOUR HELP, please go to ridingthebull.blogspot.com and check it out--get your autographed copy--help me create a best seller.   If you have already read the story please tell your friends and then go to Amazon books and post a good review. Search for Mickey Murry on Amazon to purchase a digital or print copy.

In the next few months, look for me on Texas radio and several of the popular book clubs. Bookmark this blog to stay posted.

Thank you so much for your help.

A slice of Texas history and the American dream told from the perspective of a person who lived it.

Dan Flynn was a part of my ride.  He was the Roger Staubach of Bankers.  Because of him I had dealings with Roger Staubach, Tom Landry, Joe Gibbs and many other well known people.  I became involved in starting a new bank and gained ownership in several others.  I eventually became Chairman of the Board of a bank and that was a very proud moment in my life.

Read about this great person and many more in my story.  Dan, like me, is no longer in banking, but he  is genuinely happy and content with his life serving the people of District 2 in East Texas as a State representative. He was named East Texas legislator of the year in 2013. An honor that I know from my personal experience with him that was well earned and deserved.

We are pleased with the great reception we are getting from the first readers of Riding The Bull. It is a special story about the growth of cites like Plano, Texas and the people that made it happen.

Order your copy now and find out why many people don't want to put the story down. It is a slice of real Texas history and the American dream told from the perspective of a person who lived it.

People ask. Why did you write Riding The Bull?

The obvious reason is that it is quite an honor for some to think your story has merit and worth publishing. But that was not my primary reason.

I hoped that my story would inspire and motivate some people that it was possible for someone, like me, with two kids, at age 18, no education, and no family wealth to accomplish great things.

Anything is possible if are willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done, and to go out of your way to convince others that can help you that you want to be a winner. Success will follow a great effort.  And although some failure or setbacks may follow great success, what you  accomplished will always be there. And what is more important, you can get back at it again and accomplish some more.

This is a great story about the American dream, Texas style. It is not just about the glitz and glamorous side of life, but it is about the genuine pitfalls of someone who is willing to try and accomplish great things.  That is why Riding The Bull is the appropriate title for my story.  Read my story and you will see why the title fits.

I have heard wonderful feedback from numerous first purchasers who read the book straight through and that makes me feel good.

It will make you feel good and inspired too. Look for it under my name Mickey Murry on Amazon.

Dr. Robert Schuller was one of the fascinating people that lived in my story.

When I thought I had lost everything, I turned on the TV.

There he was delivering two of his most powerful messages - Tough Times Never Last, Tough People Do and Success is Never Ending, Failure is Never Final.

Who was he? He was Dr. Robert H. Schuller. His TV show the Hour of Power was watched my millions of people every week. His message was a gift of hope to many people including me.

Dr. Schuller is a person that had an impact on my life, as well as, the lives of millions of others. You can discover how he helped me in my book. He was my savior because his words meant  that all of the great things I had accomplished would always be there and no one could ever take them away. My failure was not final and I could come back.

After thinking about Dr. Schuller's message and believing God had compelled me to turn on the TV on that specific day at that specific time, I was fired up and ready to get back on the bull and hang on. Not only was I determined, but I was feeling very close to God because I knew he was with me.

I believe you will find stories like this are inspirational and helpful in overcoming your own life's tragedies. They have helped me navigate my path. They have also taught me to never underestimate the inspirational power of a few well chosen words.  Cliches aside, words are genuinely mightier than the sword.

Dr. Schuller is just one of the many fascinating and powerful people that crossed my path from where I started to where I am now. They are all described in Riding the Bull.

Does heaven need pools? If they do, the best pool man I know is on the way.

Today, I have a heavy heart.  I found out that one of my favorite people passed away.

His name was Richard Parks and was affectionately called "The Pool Man."  A book should be written about him, and his animated personality that was displayed when he started selling you on his services as a pool builder.

The photo is a picture of Richard Parks and Tracey Lear. The picture  was taken a few summers ago.

He had a gleam in his eye and was so animated you never tired of hearing his sales pitch.  What makes this even sadder, just a few years ago, he found the love of his life with a beautiful widow named Tracey Lear.  They were so happy, and I am going to really miss him. I can tell you there are many interesting characters in Riding The Bull and he was one of my favorites.  I have a feeling there will be some new pools built in Heaven.  Rest in Peace "Pool Man."

You can read about other interesting people in Riding The Bull by going to amazon.com and search on Mickey Murry or Riding The Bull by Murry

Mickey said he was going to write a book about his life and I didn't think that much of it. Well, I was in for a big surprise.

The book is available on Amazon in both print and digital editions. Go to Amazon books and search on Mickey Murry.

Here is a review by a first reader.
 ------------------------

Hello, my name is Darell and I have lived in the same apartment complex as Mickey and Brenda for over 2 years. I watch him and Brenda walk Bo (their dog) and they are always very friendly. Mickey said he was going to write a book about his life and I didn't think that much of it. Well, I was in for a big surprise. I am amazed that someone of Mickey's caliber would even say hello to me.

He is a very humble person. His book says it all and does an excellent job of it. In his book Riding the Bull he explains the highs and lows of his life and makes it so fascinating and interesting. I hated to put it down to do my daily chores. It makes you want to know what the next adventure is going to be like. I know Mickey really did and still does love all of his wives in a special way. He has every right to be proud of his children and their success. In his book you will ride with him in limos, helicopters, and jets.

You will meet very distinguished people like Bob Hope, Joe Gibbs, Gerald Ford, and many others. My wife and I were wondering during many parts of the book how after building all those house's and mansions that he wound up in an apartment in the end. Well the way he puts the story together you will easily understand. I would and will highly recommend Riding the Bull to any and everyone I know and come in contact with. Brenda after meeting you as well, I am very proud to know you.

Mickey you have a real winner here. Murry Homes was a winner but this time I predict you will not fall off this bull! Your Friends Darell and Tammy .
